“…anyway, remember…7:15 on the dot or else they’ll give away our table…love you” coo’s Shannon’s voice, as Tim rolls over his phone, butt-tapping the voice note, as Tim tries to sneak in a quick nap. His heart-shaped balloons tap against Alonzo’s back window, making every turn a hellacious affair for Alonzo, as he is tasked with dropping off Shannon’s new boyfriend to dinner on time.

This is the first time Alonzo’s seen Tim since he ran into them 3 months ago on Edgewood, Alonzo passing by as the two shared a kiss outside Department Store. He promised himself next time he saw Tim, it would be a problem. Something Tim is blissfully unaware of, as he dozed off before Alonzo even hit “Start Trip”.

A wicked smirk envelops Alonzo’s face as Tim’s snores intensify at the red light. Alonzo veers from his lane and takes a sharp right onto the ramp, as Shannon’s old boyfriend takes Tim down I-20 West and a 15-minute ride to Valentine’s Day dinner ticks away to 19…25…36…43 minutes.
